My bathroom has white vinyl flooring that looks like tile with some forest green diamond shaped inserts, plus it has a white vanity with a forest green faux marble countertop. White tiles on the bottom half of the walls with white walls up above, a green border inbetween. What would be a good accent color? I could remove the border between the wall/tiles. Its not a terribly big bathroom, not tiny, just not as big as they make them nowadays.

I have a small bathroom and toilet which I would like to decorate myself but have absolutely no design ideas. I am looking for some simple, attractive designs but everything on the web seems to be too plush and costly. Does anyone have any ideas as to where I can view photos of simple bathroom designs? I am looking mainly for ideas for decoration rather than replacement bathroom furniture. Alternatively, are there any people out there with good design skills who would be willing to offer me some design suggestions?

There are three kinds of bathrooms used in a luxury home, power room, en-suit and private. Im doing a project where as i have to describe each one, and say what goes in each of them.
In America they are categorized as a “full bathroom”, containing four plumbing fixtures: bathtub, shower, toilet, and sink; “half (1/2) bath” (or “powder room”) containing just a toilet and sink; and “3/4 bath” containing toilet, sink, and shower.

what color should the bathroom towels, bath rugs and accessories be?
I would mix up your towels in a basket with sand and brown and even some white. Use a sand rug. But what color is your floor? I would try to blend the rug to the floor. I personally think that it looks choppy to use an accent rug in a color. You might even try a shag rug. Very popular now. Use a straw basket to hold your daily use items if you do not have drawer space or a medicine cabinet. Add some greenery to the countertop and a nice scented candle. Maybe lavendar for evening relaxaion and a citrus to liven you up in the morning. A muted, greyish purple and golds/yellows also would go. Black and violet could be another combo.Yellow, burgundy with green, yet another. Textures also bring in color as well as organic items. If you have a fairly large bathroom, a glass door cabinet would look nice or an armoire. A small chest of drawers in a warm tone, would be nice if you need additional storage (if your furniture that you are referring to is the cabinetry). You could also use a metal or wooden planter stand to hold towels. Try to look at three colors in coordinating. Black also looks nice with sage. You have a sofisicated look, so I would not go too wild with colors. I would stay away from vibrant ones. Pick up some sample face clothes to try out the color combinations that you like. Then return what you don’t. The lighter shade of green, or earthy tones will keep your look soothing and clean. Add some organic pieces which will create color and texture. Don’t use bathtub pictures. Use botanicals or sea creatures. You can always choose a scene that shows a fountain. Play around. Choose your favorite colors. Maybe bring a painted piece of wood to the store. Although the lighting will be different at your home. Good Luck

‘Mirror mirror on the wall…who is fairer of them all’. This question was once asked by a villainous character in a fantasy novel. And since then neither the novel nor the question has lost their significance.
In fact, with the growing awareness about grooming, the popularity of wall mirrors have increased and specially those of the bathroom mirrors. Any guesses?? (Brownie Points for guessing!!). The simple reason behind this is that mirrors can brighten up any dull corner and space of the house. Got a dingy or boring space in the house…just place a beautiful mirror over there and voila…you get a new revamped space in your house. People are also waking up to the fact that bathrooms are the most important part of the house. Therefore many people are investing more than they ever did on their bathrooms.
There are various reasons why people are vying for bathroom mirrors. One is that mirrors give the illusion of a bigger bathroom. Secondly, intricately carved mirrors in the bathroom can deck up any ugly bathroom, and can even become the reason of your neighbor’s envy.
Nowadays a variety of mirrors are available for different kind of customers, depending on their taste and preferences. Some of them are Black lit mirrors, frameless mirror, Kohler mirrors, Hib mirrors, Laufen mirrors, Hudson reed mirrors etc.
One can also get a mirror custom made depending on the size of one’s bathroom. But one piece of advice, whatever mirror you choose, it must blend with the décor of the bathroom.

I am planning a trip to the shore, but it is necessary to have bathrooms and showers to rinse off the sand after a day at the beach. What NJ beaches offer these ammenities? THANKS!
Which part of the shore do you plan to visit? In Central NJ, there is Seven Presidents State Park in Long Branch, Monmouth County. They have outside showers and inside bath/changing rooms. Also, there is Sandy Hook Park, just north of Monmouth Beach NJ, again in Monmouth County. They also have outside showers and inside changing/bathrooms.

im thinking of a public bathroom which is near the seashore so its prone to rusting because of the sea breeze. it also needs lots of maintenance because a lot of people is going to use it. i have no idea what materials are best for making a public bathroom near the sea. do you know any sites that offer good ideas for a bathroom? sites that design bathroom for a beach resort or something. i was thinking of using plastic doors or something so it won’t rust. the one i used were wooden doors and steel locks so now the doors are rotten, the locks doesn’t lock anymore because of the rust. though there are lights, it’s pretty dark and creepy at night. i want a well lit bathroom. please. any sites that has detail on constructing a bathroom would be very helpful.
